This Privacy Policy explains how Sudoku Takumi (the "App") handles user information. The provider of the App (the "Provider") handles your information as described below.
The App is designed to collect the minimum personal information necessary. The information we collect and its purpose are as follows.

The App does not collect your real name, date of birth, phone number, address, or precise location. You may use the App offline without creating an account; in that case your records are stored only on your device.
The App uses the camera and photos in its "Import (Scan)" feature, which imports a puzzle printed on paper. Character recognition (OCR) of the captured or selected image is processed on your device; the image is not sent to a server for recognition.
To improve recognition accuracy, a limited group of users (developer / contributor plans) can optionally send captured images and recognition results to our server. This feature works only when such a user explicitly chooses to send, and it is not shown to general users. Submitted data is used solely for investigation and is automatically deleted after a set period.
The App uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) for account management and data storage (including Amazon Cognito, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, and Amazon CloudFront). Data is stored in the Asia Pacific (Tokyo / ap-northeast-1) region. Character recognition uses Google ML Kit, which runs on your device.
To keep the App free, we show ads through Google AdMob. To deliver ads, measure impressions, analyse performance and prevent fraud, the following is collected and shared with Google as a third party.
Google handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Apart from what the advertising above involves, we do not collect information for our own usage analytics.
Except as required by law, we do not provide collected information to third parties without your consent. The services listed above are infrastructure providers engaged to the extent necessary to operate the App, and this does not constitute the sale or sharing of your data. The information involved in advertising (see the previous section) is, however, shared with Google as a third party rather than processed on our behalf.
Collected information is stored under appropriate safeguards, including access controls and encryption in transit.
You can delete your registered account and its associated data yourself at any time from within the App: “My Page” → “System” → “Delete account”. Deletion runs immediately and permanently removes your account and the data stored on our servers (it cannot be undone). If you cannot do this in the App (for example, you can no longer sign in), please contact us at the address below and we will delete it after verifying your identity. Records stored only on your device are removed when you delete (uninstall) the App.
The App is not primarily directed at a specific age group and does not knowingly collect personal information specific to children.
You may request access to, correction of, suspension of use of, or deletion of the information we hold about you. Please contact us at the address below.
We may update this Policy as needed. If we make material changes, we will announce them within the App or on this page.
